I can help clients prep for a Mens Physique show which is a bodybuilding competition, and emphasises a more aesthetic, lean and athletic physique compared to the traditional bodybuilding category. In Mens Physique, competitors are judged on their overall appearance, including their muscularity, symmetry, conditioning, and presentation.

To achieve stage condition, competitors must follow a strict training and nutrition plan, practice posing routines, and present themselves well on stage during competition. This is something I can help in all areas as I have competed in a few show’s myself and placed 3rd in my first show and then came 2nd in my most recent show in 2024 which I qualified for the British Finals in both placings.

I have prepped a handful of clients for shows with them placing 1st x2, 2nd x1, 3rd x1, 4th x1 with them all qualifying for the British Finals! Also I prepped a female client for her first show in South Africa! They are all winners in my eyes because going on stage is a massive win in itself for all the hard working and commitment throughout the weeks of prep!

WHAT COMPETITION CAN I HELP CLIENTS PREP FOR?

TRAINING


A typical Mens Physique training routine will include resistance training with weights to build and sculpt muscles, and also incorporate cardio to help reduce body fat. The goal is to achieve a well-proportioned and balanced physique to bring to the stage.

The training plan will be personalised to the client because every physique is different, so the training plan will be based on areas that need to improve on the physique along with areas of what the judges will be looking for.

NUTRITION


Nutrition is a critical aspect of achieving the desired level of leanness and muscle definition for Mens Physique competitors. The nutrition plan will be focused on calorie control, macronutrient balance, and nutrient timing to support muscle growth while reducing body fat.

To reduce body fat, I will create a nutritional plan which will put the client in a calorie deficit. This means they need to consume fewer calories than they burn through exercise and daily activities. Meal timings and macronutrient targets will be set to prevent muscle loss and ensure sustainable fat loss.

POSING


Posing is a critical aspect of Mens Physique competition, as competitors are judged not only on their physique but also on their stage presence and presentation. A well-executed posing routine can highlight the competitor's best features and make them stand out on stage.

Effective posing in Mens Physique requires a combination of relaxation, core engagement, symmetry, muscle showcasing, facial expression, and routine design. The 4 quarter turns (front, side, rear, side) is something again I can help with and to help, showcase the clients best areas to show the judges their best version of them on stage.
